Moldflow to sell manufacturing solutions division to Husky Injection
Moldflow Corporation has announced the signature of an agreement according to which it will sell all the assets of its manufacturing solutions division to Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., located in Bolton, Ontario, Canada. Per the deal, Husky will acquire Moldflow's Celltrack™, Altanium®, and Shotscope® product lines. Moldflow will, however, retain its Plastics Xpert® software product. Moldflow's highly experienced workforce, technology expertise, and innovative products will benefit Husky. Moldflow is a leader in delivering high-end design-analysis solutions for the plastics injection-molding industry.
RoboServer signs agreement with Team Research, Inc., and Team Sable
RoboServer Systems Corp. has signed a manufacturing agreement with San Jose, CA-based Team Research, Inc., a North American counterpart of Taiwan-based Netronics Corp., and Shinchu, Taiwan-based Team Sable. Self-Serve by RoboServer allows quick-service restaurant customers to process their own orders via touchscreen kiosks. Team Research has had vast experience manufacturing point-of-sale and touchscreen product platforms. Netronics possesses first-class manufacturing facilities around the world and will provide assistance to RoboServer as "Self-Service" becomes more popular with restaurants.
Industrial manufacturing sector to create thousands of jobs
According to research conducted by Industrial Info Resources, the U.S. manufacturing industry will soon have thousands of new jobs to offer. By the end of next quarter, 115 industrial manufacturing plants now under construction will reach completion and begin producing a wide variety of products. These new plants will create 17,600 openings once they start operations. Visteon Corp. to build manufacturing plant in Eureka, MO
Visteon Corp., a global automotive supplier, will construct an assembly plant in St. Louis County that will provide employment to about 200 people. The Eureka, MO, production plant is expected to open next summer and will use unique and innovative manufacturing processes "to deliver interior products for in-sequence, just-in-time installation in vehicles." The plant will initially supply door panels, cockpits, and consoles to the Chrysler Group. Visteon, which is based in Van Buren Township, MI, provides services in 26 countries and employs about 45,000 people globally.
