The Materials
Superintendent is responsible for the administration and supervision
of the materials departments in the plant as delegated by the Operations
Manager.
This position will serve our Air Division,
located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
','!*!WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Direct
and supervise the activities and personnel of various factory departments.Delegate
responsibility and authority to subordinates so as to maintain an
efficient flow of information, complete coordination, and maximum
production efficiency from departments.Deliver
Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives for the Materials areas
which includes Shipping, Receiving, Material Control, and Service
Shipping.Responsible
for status of various projects within operating function and promoting the
best possible coordination with other departments and or functions
concerned.Responsible
for periodically reviewing subordinate performance and recommending
promotions or merit increases.Train
and instruct supervisors in the proper methods and techniques of
supervisions and planning of work.
Work with supervisors to ensure consistency in contract language
and policies.Responsible
for establishing and maintaining the safety program and enforcing safety
procedures.Represent
Company to outside vendors and company representatives, as required.
Required Education & Experience:
Minimum of seven
years related experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong communications
skills (speaking, writing, & listening) with the ability to present
information to and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.Independent
thought, good judgment, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize
multiple projects a must.Knowledge and
experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen Teams and standard
work methodology.Must be a team
player with excellent interpersonal skills.Experience in
directly supervising employees, developing talent, and managing
performance.Proficiency in
computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, etc).Self-motivation
with little or no supervision.No travel restrictions.
HOW TO STAND OUT:
Bachelor's of
Science degree in Engineering or related technical field from an
accredited four-year college or university Experience in a
high volume durable goods manufacturing environment.Experience working
with all levels of management.Experience in Lean
concepts and application.
