Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Manufacturing Projects Manager at our Emmott Rd facility in Houston. This role will lead manufacturing efforts in a global team(s) responsible to implement supply chain strategy. Provide inputs on resource requirements, supply chain risks, and equipment required. Provide technical leadership for the production team. Responsibilities include providing documentation with safety, manufacturing and quality methods, tooling, and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Aggressively initiate new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and/or improve product quality

Lead manufacturing actions for a cross-functional sub-team of Sourcing, Manufacturing, Product Quality, and Materials to achieve targets in scope and design transfer phase

Seek early understanding of Standard Product Cost, EHS risks, Regulatory Risks, and training needs

Plan activities to address these needs in timely manner

Lead accurate and timely completion of documents required for each Milestone Review and maintain project timeline documentation such as Gantt charts

Highlight Supply Chain Risks related to Safety, Cost, Lead Time, Business Continuity andRegulatory Compliance to Project Management and Leadership Team

Follow through on Risk Mitigation Activities and provide status updates in Program Reviews

Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives by preparing Process Flow Charts, Product Risk Maps, and pFMEA or other applicable manufacturing tools to identify opportunity to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and avoid EHS Issues

Utilize lean manufacturing methodology. Design and develop new processes to support both short and long-term business plans with productivity, capacity and quality improvements

Provide safe processes that comply with all local and federal regulations

Assure that corrective action is taken to resolve observed safety concerns in all areas

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Be knowledgeable and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, DMR, DHR and electronic signature requirements to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training and documentation meet requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, projects training and/or field projects and initiatives)

Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, projects training and/or field projects and initiatives

Travel up to 50% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics:

Experience with manufacturing processes and quality control on one of the following: Machining, Casting, Molding, and/or Assembling

Previous experience in managing scope, budget, quality, and resources in capacity of Project Coordinator / Manager

Experience with Production Equipment Design, installation and maintenance

Excellent problem-solving abilities using analytical and logical thinking skills

Understanding of QA-QC and testing procedures

Proven analytical and organizational ability

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Ability to influence others and lead small teams

Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Demonstrated ability to perform with high levels of ambiguity and complexity
