Job Title:Manufacturing EngineerJob Description:Position Overview: Phillips-Medisize, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience to support our new medical manufacturing facility in Hudson, WI. This position will support manufacturing in the effort to insure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. Essential Functions:Functions as a liaison with project engineering, manufacturing and the customer regarding the implementation of programs, both molding and/or secondary operationsProvide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage to the established yield and throughput, and drive for cost reduction and optimal qualityCoordinate, direct and lead engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirementsInterface with customers on a regular basis to resolve issuesFacilitate communication between customer, sales, engineering functions, outside vendors, manufacturing and multi-divisional groupsMaintain cost control and profitability through interaction with the accounting group, sales and our customersImplement technical solutions to meet customer and company cost, quality, and delivery expectationsFacilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental and ergonomics effortsCreate and monitor project timelinesExtended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needsSome programs may have vision requirementsOther duties as assignedJob Number:7842BRCareer Field:EngineeringPosition Qualifications:Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field with 2 years of related experience in operationsExperience working in a medical manufacturing environment preferred Travel Requirements: The new facility will be completed in August 2019. Office location may be in New Richmond, WI and Menomonie, WI plants during construction of the new Hudson, WI plant.During the equipment acquisition phase travel to vender sites may require 30% travel time through 2020. Thereafter, 5% travel. Skills and Abilities:Strong and diverse technical injection molding tooling, materials, manufacturing, quality, and product design skills desiredAbility to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and part designs meet requirementsAbility to manage multiple large-scale projectsDemonstrated superior communication, teamwork and organizational skillsAbility to accurately quote design, tools/equipment, and partsAbility to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plansDemonstrated ability to develop and meet financial goalsDemonstrated ability to identify and develop future account needsDemonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend optionsAbility to lead others.
