Controls Engineer

Purpose of Position:

The person hired for the position of Controls Engineer will support the NG IHPS manufacturing readiness and FAT project with specification, installation, maintenance, and enhancement of control systems and automation for that project.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Leads and/or participates in projects to implement control system installations and/or enhancements of current systems to improve manufacturing capability and productivity for NG IHPS FAT program.

• Participates on NG IHPS FAT program and plays a role in configuring control systems to meet new manufacturing requirements.

• Participates in multi-functional teams using Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement efforts and supports lean process activities.

• Supports current manufacturing team with maintenance and operation of applicable control systems.

Background & Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in an Engineering or Science discipline

• Minimum two (2) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in understanding and integrating industrial sensors, motors, PLC programming (Unitronix and Allen Bradley) and network protocols into working control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Control Automation, Electronics or Electrical Engineering

• Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts

• Experience in implementing disruptive technologies

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt trained

• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines is essential

• Solid organizational skills

Required Training:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in an Engineering or Science discipline

• Minimum two (2) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in understanding and integrating industrial sensors, motors, PLC programming (Unitronix and Allen Bradley) and network protocols into working control systems.
