Basic Function

he Plant Logistics Specialist is responsible for performing accurate and timely delivery planning and following procedures and system tasks established within Plant Logistics Operations to meet customer requirements. This includes receipt of orders, coordinating transportation availability, overseeing timely delivery, performing logistics inventory management, and/or coordinating process exceptions.

The ideal candidate will understand and grow their knowledge of the business and overall Enterprise workings. The ideal candidate will have the capability to resolve logistics and operational issues for order management, inventory management, delivery planning, and execution.

This position is located in Downtown Houston at our North American headquarters

Roles & Responsibilities

Exhibit safe behaviors and achieve Goal Zero on Safety.

Assure accurate and timely communication and execution of all delivery planning processes and procedures.

Execute accurate and timely system transactions of product movements.

Proactively manage delivery planning tasks; capable of covering multi desks/functions.

Display individual competency in Enterprise system support tools. Understand/monitor performance metrics and support efforts to achieve/maintain Operational Excellence.

Maintain effective communication between customer service, manufacturing operations, and land transportation to effectively provide answers to inquiries regarding equipment availability and transportation requirements. Communicate shipping schedules and details to plant/storage location personnel and business management as needed.

Operate with knowledge regarding customers, products, manufacturing, distribution systems, and industry trends. Maintain knowledge of the Enterprise system support tools and assist customers/vendors in full utilization of system tools.

Effectively communicate and influence both internally and externally to ensure customer satisfaction with product and services.

Flexible/adaptable to work cross-functional roles and responsibilities when necessary.

Develop the ability to understand how tasks performed fit into the overall Supply Chain processes.

Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers and take directions and guidance and impact and influence decisions.

Impact key outcomes by continuously measuring, innovating and improving processes in assigned work areas.

Min. Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is preferred; 8 years related experience is required in lieu of a degree.

Will consider candidates targeted to receive their Bachelor’s degree in May 2019 who do not have at least 8 years of prior experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the chemical, polymers or petrochemical industry.

Knowledge of Supply Chain connectivity tools and SAP systems.

Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and decision making.

Exhibit good judgment in problem solving, knowledge of company, products, movement of inventory, logistics and transportation operations.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Exercise good business practices and work ethics.
