POSITION PROFILE

The Production Scheduler is responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously improving the production schedule for Knoll Seating. The ideal candidate will be a skilled planner, with the ability to anticipate department needs for servicing our customers, both internal and external. This individual is responsible for complete and accurate communication to all levels of the organization, providing the information necessary in a clear and concise manner, enabling the group to achieve the performance level necessary to provide exemplary service.

Additional responsibilities of the scheduler include:

Creates, distributes and continually updates the overall master schedule, while prioritizing customer need and operational efficiencies.

Serve as a systems expert by optimizing the use of our ERP system for increased efficiency across multiple levels of organization.

Analyze customer demand to ensure schedule revisions occur (level-loading) to meet ship dates and that optimum levels of work are being released to manufacturing.

Effectively uses Microsoft Excel and ERP to complete production planning based on forecasting, customer demand and production constraints.

Oversight of production schedule where changes are required due to 'specials', labor/ material shortages, backlogs, or other delaying conditions.

Collaborates with Materials, Customer Service, and Production to prevent production schedule interruptions.

Create and distribute production schedules and work orders for individual chair lines. This includes printing orders, batching/sequencing, applying Quality stickers to Work Orders, and delivering paperwork to the production floor.

Calculate and analyze figures such as required amounts of labor, materials, and manufacturing costs, using production schedules, JDE and Excel.

Communicate with customer service on status of sales orders and estimated completion.

Assist with special projects and participate in various continuous improvement teams as requested.

Required Skills

Advanced, demonstrated application of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

Advanced experience with an Enterprise business system (JD Edwards/ JDE or Oracle preferred).

Working knowledge of lead times for manufacturing and procurement.

Experience with data analysis and/or data mining.

Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The ability to communicate professionally both verbally and through written correspondence.

Must be able to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment; The ability to manage frequent, changing priorities.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations management or similar field Or, Associate Degree with 4-7 years of progressive, related experience

1 - 3 years related experience; similar industry preferred.
