Role Summary :

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Additive Manufacturing Technician for the 2 nd Shift in the Enterprise Additive Manufacturing. This fast-paced group produces products using AM methods and provides technical and manufacturing support for BHGE through creative AM Solutions.

The ideal candidate will be a self-driven, safety-oriented, fast learner, and hands-on in Metal and Polymer Additive Manufacturing equipment operations.

Prerequisite skills include hands-on experience operating complex machinery, such as manual mill or lathe.

Essential Responsibilities:

Operate Polymer 3D Printers: load and unload jobs and materials from machines; remove support material from parts; dry parts in the oven; use GrabCad Print or Insight to arrange and process parts into a build file.

Operate Metal 3D Printers, including: machine setup, build removal, and routine machine maintenance

Operate other AM support equipment, including wire EDM, bandsaw, manual grinder, beadblaster, parts washer, and tumbler

Keep parts moving in the manufacturing process, such as taking parts to and from QC and shipping and receiving

Assist in developing and implementing operational process improvement ideas

Qualifications/Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

5 years of experience in operating 3D printers (metal experience not required)

10 years working in a technician-oriented role

Ability to work in and contribute to culture with a heavy focus on health, safety, and environment

Must be willing to work Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 11:00pm, overtime and weekends as business need

Willingness to perform manual labor

Willingness to perform non-routine requests such as fixing broken equipment

Able to work independently with little or no supervision

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in continuous improvement culture

Experience operating a forklift

Experience operating complex machines, such as manual mill or lathe
