JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineering Technician
DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing Engineering
Summary of Responsibilities:
Conduct assignments to support and communicate changes to a designated production business unit. Primary responsibility will be to support production and assembly through continuous improvement and troubleshooting as well as create routings, assign assembly operations, and develop work instructions for production release changes. The job includes a combination of working in a production assembly environment as well as working at a desk using Adobe Illustrator, Siemens TeamCenter for drafting work instructions, and INFOR XA/ AS400 an enterprise resource planning system (ERP) for processing Engineering Change Notices.
Summary of Duties:
•Provide troubleshooting assistance for the product, process, and procedures related to the designated production unit.
•Responsible for communicating Bill of Material discrepancies with international and domestic design teams.
•Participate in new product design reviews to evaluate ability to adapt current processes.
•Responsible for coding new parts with accurate routings and assembly operations.
•Responsible for creating clear work instructions.
•Assist in the design and development of production processes to ensure quality and reduce cost in the product.
•Evaluate change requests from the designated production unit.
•Support quality and lean initiatives.
•Perform all other related duties as assigned.
•Preferred: Two year college degree in a technical field, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Fluent with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn other systems quickly.
•In-depth understanding of bill of materials, routings, engineering prints and work instructions.
•Effectively communicate with different functional groups.
•Communicate in an effective, professional manner to facilitate teamwork (in regards to internal department and cross functional teams).
•Team player with the ability to provide leadership for change and improvement.
•Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
•Detail oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks.
