Description: Supports Interceptor Production Program Manager (PM) and Deputy Program Manager (DPM) in executing 3 concurrent USG and FMS contracts (Combined Buy, Lot 7/8, and Lot 9/10) and overseeing a budget of $5.4B through 2021.
In this role the Assistant Program Manager (APM) acts as the Program Management representative for their assigned Subcontract Management Teams. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all parts required to build end items are ordered and received on time, fully compliant, and are assembled in support of our Internal Operating Plans ensuring contract milestones are met.
The APM must be aware of all issues with respect to their assigned products and manage how each issue will be addressed, who will act as the subject matter expert, how the information will be presented and ensure the issue is closed in a timely manner. The APM is expected to perform any duties assigned by the PM and DPM which include but are not limited to:
Acts as the primary back-up for customer point of contact for relevant program activities, supporting program review sessions with the customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance as needed.
Monitors adherence to the production integrated master schedule. In conjunction with the Program Manager, directs/prioritizes the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.
Supports affordability initiatives and producibility enhancements focused on driving down unit cost.
Coordinates activities between production sites and the program to clear constraints to DD250.
Coordinates changes to the existing Technical Data Package to meet program and/or customer needs.
Coordinates internal multidisciplinary special projects.
Coordinates the activities of suppliers in conjunction with Subcontract Management to support overall program goals.
Supports the Risk and Opportunity Management Board.
Program Health Metric Monitoring and Diagnosis.
The candidate shall have superior organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
A broad and thorough technical background associated with major hardware production is needed.
A thorough understanding of company processes and procedures is required.
Must be able to foster a good relationship with the customer and act as a liaison to them.
Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks with multiple people on multiple problems simultaneously.
Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
Missile production experience and working knowledge of THAAD missile production is desirable.
A good working knowledge of program management methods, global supply chain management, and missile assembly is also a plus.
