AECOM is looking for a Shift Operator to join our team in Sarasota, FL. The shift operator will work with SCADA, logic and controls, advanced oxidation processes (AOP), ultrafiltration (UF), ceramic membranes, and reverse osmosis (RO). As a shift operator, the employee actively monitors tank levels, well field parameters, performs hourly comprehensive plant inspections, monitors chemical usage, flow rates, pH, and temperature to ensure discharge permit compliance and prevent process upsets. Shift operators also perform daily lab testing, water quality data collection, field tasks, and are responsible for record keeping in the operations log book. The shift operator is also responsible for some health and safety inspections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Performs a variety of duties in operation and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants under the supervision of a certified operator.
Accepts feedback and training from certified operator.
Inspects operating equipment.
Performs minor preventative maintenance.
Performs routine laboratory analyses.
Maintains log of activities.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Prior experience working in a water filtration plant in a similar capacity.
Basic working knowledge of computers, and SCADA systems.
Ability to work overtime, night shifts, various shifts, weekends, holidays.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees.
Ability to effectively communicate with others.
