U.S. Steel Facilities to lay-off 3,500

A U.S. Steel Facility in Missouri, Michigan, and Minnesota will be closing their doors, amid the economic meltdown. According to reports, it is estimated that 3,500 workers will be affected.
Layoffs at the Keewatin, Minnesota facility, Keetac, are scheduled to take place within the coming weeks. Keetac plans on these layoffs being temporary and to rehire the employees once market conditions improve.
Keetac is an iron ore mining and palletizing facility.
