Manufacturing Entry Level Jobs

An entry-level manufacturing job is usually a developmental position. Entry-level manufacturing personnel work under close supervision and receive specific and detailed instructions. Their work involves assisting the senior manufacturing personnel with troubleshooting and validating equipment and manufacturing processes, identifying and implementing process/product improvement alternatives, managing PM and calibration processes, and writing and/or verifying specifications for raw materials and manufacturing supplies.

Further, entry-level manufacturing personnel are also expected to interact directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, and engineers in resolving production problems. The entry-level personnel also assist in bringing new products to production.

Most companies require candidates for the entry-level jobs to have at least some formal college education in mechanics, science, or a related field. Strong assembly skills, manual dexterity, excellent hand-and-eye coordination are also a must for an entry-level manufacturing job. The candidates for these jobs are also expected to have the ability to work in a high-paced team environment.
